I’ve lived a life steeped in art and creativity.
Growing up in the hills of Cornish, New Hampshire. I was one of the lucky ones-encouraged to create before I could even write. My childhood was filled with paint and brushes, scraps and stolen scissors. There was paper and cloth, needles and pencils. It was a time for imagination, exploration, and artistry.
That early spark led me to a lifelong love of painting, antiques, textiles. I attended Monserrat College of Art in Beverly MA, where I deepened my practice, studying painting and art history. After college I brought art into people’s homes through specialty finishes and hand painted furniture. Eventually, I opened my own shop-a space to showcase my creations and to finally bring to life the quilt patterns I had admired for so many years.
Today my work centers around modern interpretations of traditional quilt motifs, painted on oak panels and sealed with multiple coats of polyurethane for durability-indoors or out. I also design one of a kind handbags made from vintage and collected fabric remnants. Each piece is infused with story, character, and a sense of found object-eclectic, mysterious, and unique.
My work reflects who I am: a modern primitive, a collector of beauty and a lifelong maker inspired by history, heritage and the handmade.
